Shaymon Cain

 Background:

     After graduating from Auburn University with a BFA in painting, I worked as a gallery manager at a glass studio in Birmingham. Although I loved my work, I wanted a career that could combine my passion for art and desire to provide a service to the community and to the future.

     I decided to pursue the field of education. Since I was a child one of my favorite games to play was "school" and as the oldest in the family I always got to be the teacher. I have even found "teaching ideas" written when I was just a kid!

     In December 2010, I completed a Masters degree at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. My dream is coming true! I have already began teaching several art classes in my community and cannot wait to become a full time art teacher at a local school.
